James is originally from Anglesey in Wales and Naomi from Malvern in Worcestershire. They met when they both worked at the same publishing house in London. Naomi and James now live in Cornwall with their two boys, their dog and some tiny fish.

Their books have been translated into 24 languages, won multiple awards, been selected for the Scottish BookTrust BookBug programmes, watched over 200,000 times on YouTube and read on CBeebies Bedtime Stories.

Their debut book The Perfect Fit has sold over 150,000 copies worldwide.

Naomi Jones

Naomi previously worked in rights in children’s publishing for eight years. As well as writing her own stories, Naomi is also a freelance editor and mentor.

As a proud dyslexic author, Naomi is passionate about making reading accessible. She loves doing interactive events for children and in 2025 she was shortlisted for the Ruth Rendell Award for services to literacy. Naomi has worked with the BBC to promote their 500 word story competition, helped announce the Oxford Children’s Word of the Year, been a Patron of Reading for a local primary school and a longlisting judge for The Jericho Prize. She is currently a Local Literacy Champion for the National Literacy Trust.

Her poems have been published in The Mum Poem Press, Motherlore Magazine, The Toy Press, Dirigible Balloon, Green Ink and Spelt Magazine.

When she’s not writing, Naomi loves to walk her dog on the beach, play netball, curl up with a good book and eat bake cakes.

James Jones

James is an award-winning art director, designer and illustrator who freelances for publishers all over the world. He has worked at Orion, Penguin Random House, and as Art Director at both Oneworld and Head of Zeus. His work has been recognised by AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts), Type Directors Club, Design Observer, the ABCD (The Academy of British Cover Design) and World Illustration Awards amongst others.

When James isn’t illustrating or designing, he loves practicing kung fu, playing football and cold water swimming.
